Mevlevi Lodge & Mosque
Concept design and photorealistic visualisation for a mosque and Mevlevi lodge (Mevlevihane) in Şanlıurfa, Türkiye, bringing together spaces for daily prayer and the Sema ceremony within a unified architectural composition. The design draws inspiration from Ottoman and Seljuk craftsmanship through deep walnut coffered ceilings, a central dome influenced by traditional kündekâri woodwork, and bespoke architectural detailing throughout. Every ceiling pattern and ornamental motif was individually hand-drawn before being hand-carved by skilled craftsmen, reflecting the precision and artistry of traditional woodworking techniques. Onyx-lit niches, crystal chandeliers and finely crafted timber elements reinforce the richness of the interior, while the circular semahane and adjoining prayer hall are connected through a carefully considered sequence of spaces. A carved cedar minbar and deep indigo prayer carpet complete the composition.
